We got a great update on Noble. Her adoptive family writes: “Noble (now know as Shelbie) is inquisitive and relaxed and loves her mini adventures out on the trail. I’ve also included pic’s of her in pasture in her ‘forever home.’ We can’t say enough about her. We love her so much and are so thankful to you and your rescue for all you do.”
Noble was 1 of 26 horses we rescued at an auction in May 2009. We work extremely diligently to find all the adoptable horses at the shelter wonderful lifelong homes, and Noble is a great example of our success. She was only a year and a half old when we rescued her after she was dumped without a second thought at an auction. If you would like to read that auction rescue blog, click here.
We were able to find a very wonderful home for Noble. Noble was delivered to her forever family on this little girl’s birthday!
Noble’s adoptive family in the update writes: “She was also very young – approx. 1 ½ yrs old – so we took the first 6 months or so doing ground work. Then for the next year or so we took our time getting her ready for trail. We wanted to wait till she was about 3 to start riding full time. She is now almost 6 years old and she has been the best trail horse ever!”
It makes all of our staff so happy when we get such wonderful updates on adopted horses. The thought of what could have happened to Noble if we had not rescued her is unbearable. We would like to thank every person who donates to the auction fund, making it possible to rescue horses just like Noble.
Tuesday morning, in the latest group of auction rescue horses, Dandee and Nita were looking wide eyed with curiosity. They were being moved to a larger quarantine pen with a big indoor run-in for shelter.
Soon all the auction horses were all moved and checking out their new pen.
Kirsty got to work evaluating some of the auction horses to see how much training they have had. Nooka, the Paso mare, was a very good girl as she was saddled.
Kirsty had never ridden a Paso before, and she was quite shocked at how smooth they are.
Nooka is such a pretty girl and if you are looking for a very smooth gaited horse, you may want to put a hold on her. We’re sure she isn’t going to last very long at all.
Mayan was the next horse to be evaluated. He saddled up nicely too. He seemed to know what it was all about.
He too is trained to ride and is such a gorgeous boy with his beautiful flashy markings.
Look at those beautiful blue eyes that he has!
