Call to Action!

As many of you know there are plans for a horse slaughter house in New Mexico.  A man by the name of Tim Sappington is the first paid employee for Valley Meat Co, which is the company trying to slaughter horses near Roswell.  Mr Sappington has a message for you, which is quite shocking, he shoots a horse point blank (it has been edited to remove the foul language and gore.)  To see his message, click here.

In recent news articles about the slaughter plant Tim was interviewed.  “Tim Sappington is ready to buy horses for Valley Meat Co., which is seeking to open the first U.S. horse slaughterhouse since 2007. Right now he’s the only paid employee, and he puts his money where his mouth is.”  To read the rest of the article, click here.

In the video uploaded first you see a nice healthy horse standing in a pen with an auction tag on its rump.  No doubt Tim went to the auction, bought this horse, just to prove a point with his threatening video.

In the video Tim leads the horse, pets it gently, then says “All you animal activists, f$%# you.”  He pulls a handgun out of his holster, holds it up and shoots the horse.  Then he says “Good” as he walks away from the dying horse.

Tim Sappington uploaded the video onto his Youtube channel, but then apparently he changed his mind and deleted the video.  Tim, your video is saved all over the internet, your actions will be seen.

Governor Susana Matinez, of New Mexico, is quite clear about her position regarding a horse slaughter house in New Mexico as seen in this CBS clip.  We must contact any and all news outlets, law enforcement, anyone that can put a stop to this horrible plan.

Here’s how you can help and get justice for the poor horse who was the victim of this hateful action!

We must all band together and put a stop to this. What Tim did may very well be the catalyst to ending the possibility of the horse slaughter house in Roswell, but we must join together to make that happen.

Another action is getting horse slaughter outlawed nation wide. Support the following bill that will end horse slaughter and export once and for all.

Please make a brief, polite phone call to your U.S. Representative and two U.S. Senators to urge co-sponsorship of H.R. 1094 S. 541, the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act that ends the cruel slaughter of America’s horses as well as their export for slaughter abroad.

You can find your representative at this link:
http://action.humanesociety.org/site/PageServer?pagename=electedOfficials_federal.

You can say: “I would like you to please co-sponsor and support H.R. 1094/S. 541, the Safeguard American Food Exports (SAFE) Act to protect our nation’s horses and keep the food supply safe for consumers.”

We know we are asking a lot of you, but this is extremely important. We must be a united voice for those that have no voice.
