We got a great update on Danny, one of the 41 Grass Valley horses. He was the youngest and smallest of the group. At his new home he is being loved on and is being halter trained. We are so happy for him and this wonderful future he has ahead.
Sunday morning our staff and volunteers got to work cleaning our storage room and organizing it.
We separated our feed into separate piles so nothing gets buried and we know what feed it is where for which type of animals.
Kirsty was busy in the round pen with Skye. Skye is a 7 year old Paint who has some Clinton Anderson method groundwork training. He is not yet trained to ride, but will make a great horse for someone. He has been sitting out to pasture for a while, and is a little nervous to be back to work, but Kirsty assured him he will be okay. If you are interested in adopting him please contact us.
After his refresher coarse, Kirsty decided he needed a nice grooming as he was still wearing his fuzzy winter coat.
It is definitely spring time here as a lot of the horses are shedding.
After his grooming, Skye is a slick and handsome boy.
We had some people come to take some manure. Larry always tries to make every visitor to the shelter feel welcome.
Meanwhile Rowdy was keeping an eye over the fence, hoping someone would come to the shelter and adopt him. He is such a cute guy who is halter broke. If you are interested in him, please contact us.
We had some potential adopters come out to see Katie and Fancy Feet. They really liked both of them. We are hoping that these two precious horses can go home soon.
Kirsty was still working in the round pen, but this time with Barbara. She is a 2 year old filly who is halter trained. Kirsty saw that she is a quick learner. If you are interested in her please contact us.
Our storage room was looking great as our staff and volunteers really worked hard getting it organized.
We had a guy come to work on our tractor. The water pump was leaking really bad, so we ordered a new one and had it replaced. The tractor is a really helpful tool and we always miss it greatly when it has a problem.
Monday we had a horse transferred from another Humane Society. She has chronic health problems that are causing her pain and was transferred into the Last Act of Kindness program.
