Lacy J Dalton benefit concert: For the 41 Grass Valley horses!

Tuesday Larry worked all morning and afternoon on our feed wagon to get it up and running. It broke down the night before, but thankfully in the end it was a simple fix.  It has almost 2,000 hours of feeding and caring for animals on it already!  It seems like just the other day it came to the shelter from the dealership, bright and shiny.  It’s not as shiny, but it still gets the job done every single day.

Kirsty was evaluating Katie, she is a very sweet mare and very cute.

She is a nice horse to ride. She is 23, she has plenty more years left on her.  She is gaited and very smooth.

Colors and Fancy were getting their microchips.  They are going to be heading to their new home soon.

Tawnee has been working a lot of hours getting new fencing done.  She went over the fencing in great detail with Kirsty and April so they will be able to maintain and install new fencing.

Tracy got adopted by April. We are so happy for them!  We know that April and Larry will give her a wonderful home.

At the end of the day we had a big staff meeting, Kirsty was officially becoming manager.  Jason and Tawnee are heading back east and will be assisting Shari in getting the Oklahoma shelter up and running 100%.  We are very excited that our organization has grown so much that our founders are able to assist in other states and that our California shelter is ran by such a wonderful team.  Tawnee passed the “Boss” cup over to Kirsty, we know she will do a great job being manager of our California shelter.

Don’t forget the Lacy J Dalton benefit concert for the 41 Grass Valley horses is in Penn Valley CA Saturday the 14th. Half of the proceeds go to Horse Plus.  For more information, click here.  There are a lot of tickets already purchased, it’s going to be a lot of fun and you’re not going to want to miss it!

Thank you all for your support!  We really appreciate it.
