We want to thank each and every person who donated to help save the horses from the slaughter pipeline Saturday night. In the last email we referred to an incident of harassment that happened at the auction, we have turned it over to the proper authorities.

This is a beautiful 2-year-old Spotted saddle horse. She is halter trained and very sweet.
This is a 6-year-old Quarter horse gelding. He is very cute and is trained to ride.
This is a 13-year-old paint gelding that is trained to ride. He is under weight and definitely has had a rough time recently. We can’t wait to watch him fill out and be beautiful once again.
This is a 10-year-old gelding, he is a very pretty guy.
This is a cute, lively pony who has shoes on. We are not sure about his breed yet, but he is definitely full of life.
This is a gaited yearling. She is cute, curious and wants to be loved by people.
This handsome guy is named Liberty, he is said to be 9-years-old and is a gaited gelding. He too is underweight.
Justice is a 9-year-old gelding and is trained to ride. He is sweet, we’re not sure what happened to him, but he has scrapes all over his face.
This is Maggie, an older mare in her mid 20’s. She had been through a lot in her time and when the vet came out to look at her following her rescue at the auction, he couldn’t believe all the things that were wrong with her. She had severe arthritis in both of her front pasterns, she had DLSD and two bowed tendons, and was missing most of her teeth. The kindest thing the vet said we could do was relieve her from her suffering. We are so glad that in the end Maggie was safe and knew that people loved and cared for her. When horses like this end up at auction it breaks our hearts. Their owners should have done the right thing for them, rather than making a few last dollars on them when they dump them at an auction. We are very thankful that we were able to rescue Maggie and show her love, kindness and respect.
When this horse entered the auction ring, Tawnee knew that they were trying to hide something. The way the horse was stepping, Tawnee thought for sure the horse was blind. The auctioneer, and the person leading the horse in the sale ring, never said a peep about the horse being blind, just ranted it up about it being a gorgeous buckskin stud. “You could keep him a stud and throw some beautiful color or geld him and have an awesome riding horse,” the auctioneer said. It turns out, this horse is completely blind. Auctions can be so deceitful to potential buyers, and apparently with legal impunity. He is 2-years-old and one of the sweetest horses you’ll ever meet. For being blind he is very well adjusted and very willing to do whatever you ask him to do.
The vet examined him and believes he has cataracts in both eyes, just like Angel, our resident blind horse. Tawnee held his head as he drifted into la-la land for his gelding operation.
The gelding operation was successful, no doubt he was a little bewildered when he woke up. We are hopeful that the right home will step forward for this beautiful guy, he is truly a gem.
The auction rescue horses are remaining in quarantine before they will be available for adoption. They are enjoying hanging out, eating and just being horses.
