Tawnee’s forced vacation was very short lived. She had an prior speaking engagement at an Animal Welfare Discussion group and had to make it as our organization was their featured shelter.
At the first Animal Welfare Discussion group last month, at the end of the discussion the host asked if there were any organizations who would like to speak at the next one. Tawnee volunteered as no one else seemed too keen on the idea. Then the host gave Tawnee an outline of how the speech should go as it was going to be the template for how future keynote speakers presentations should be done.

Despite still having a fever, Tawnee put on a smile and gave her speech. This speech was about who we are, what we do, and some ideas on what makes an animal welfare organization successful and some ideas for animal welfare organizations to work together.

After the speech Tawnee had to go over to Channel 12 as they wanted to interview her.
Then she sat waiting to be questioned by a reporter. Those interview cameras always look so big!
Finally it was over and Tawnee was ready to head back to bed.
When you’re feeling ill the last thing you want to do is speeches and TV interviews. Sadly, life doesn’t stop just because you get sick. Tawnee was thankful that her fever was only about 100 degrees instead of 103.9. We will post the link when it is aired.
