The auction rescue is currently at $3,568 with 4 days left to go

The auction rescue is currently at $3,568 with 4 days left to go.  Thank you all so much for your generosity!  We still have $1,432 left to go, we know we can count on you to save the horses at the livestock auction.  Please click here.

We would like you to meet the gorgeous Oz.   He is an 11 year old 16.3 hand TB gelding, who is very well trained to ride we are told.  He has done training level dressage and small jumps, but is also very nice on trails either alone or in a group.   No vices or soundness problems we are told.  His adoption fee is $400, if you are interested put a hold on him, he won’t last long!  His old owner tried to find him a great home for months, but was unable to do so.  Due to personal health reasons she had to surrender him at our SAFE Surrender Site.  She really loved and took care of Oz, he is an absolutely gorgeous boy.  For more information on adopting, click here.

On Facebook we announced that Monique had miscarried.  We apologize for the mistake, it was Request that miscarried, not Monique.  Monique is not pregnant, she was ultrasounded and thankfully there is no baby inside.  Request, one of the 10 emaciated horses we rescued recently, miscarried her foal due to starvation.  In her poor condition her body was no longer able to keep the pregnancy going.  This is truly sad, this is the 3rd casualty simply from the horses not being fed and watered adequately.

Wednesday we welcomed a little duck to the shelter, the first duck ever.  She has an injured leg and we are hoping for the best for the cute girl.

She is very cute and we asked for name suggestions on Facebook.  We had an overwhelming response: 124 people suggested names!  We really appreciate every ones name suggestions, but the names are so cute we just can’t make up our minds.  We may have to put it up for bid… We’ll keep you posted.

Mater, another one of the 10 horses, is still in intensive care.  Hopefully soon he will be healthy enough to have the surgery that should fix his problem.

Wednesday we also had an old familiar face at the shelter: Linda, who helps evaluate horses.  She will be rejoining our staff and coming out about once a week to work with and evaluate the horses

We also had a couple come out who had seen Milky Mocha on the internet and fell in love with her picture.  They just had to come out and meet her.  After they met her they couldn’t believe how sweet she was and she is now in adoption pending.  Their application is being processed, we are hopeful that Mocha can go home soon!

Cathy got a hilarious picture of Shadow the cow begging.  Her tongue was so far out it was just too cute.

Today’s Ebay Giving Works item is a pair of women’s Ralph Lauren size 7/8 jeans.  They are a great buy at $9.99 with 10% of the sale price going to help the horses!  To bid on these, click here.
