The forest of poles grew straight and tall Wednesday. The concrete was being put in and the poles level and set.
Jason made sure that each pole was (hopefully) exactly where it was supposed to be.
We can’t wait to have 3 more little critter pens up and going. One of them is going to be bird safe for chickens, geese, ducks, and whatever other fowl find their way to the shelter. Sir Peanut sure is enjoying his pen!
Mr T loves his pen too.
Tawnee had to make some adjustments to keep the critters from rubbing on the fencing. Soon it was all done and that problem should be taken care of.
Jason hooked up the trailer and hit the road. There is so much fog in the valley, when will it ever lift?
Finally at the destination Tacoma was waiting patiently. It was in the mountains where the sun was shining and it was bright and warm.
Tacoma had been adopted from us last year and we were disheartened to hear that his adopter had abandoned him at someones place. She had agreed to board him there but never paid the boarding. One thing is for sure, she will never be adopting from us again. We want horses to have responsible homes, and if you find yourself in a position where you cannot care for your adopted animal contact us! They are always welcome back.
It was so nice to see the freeze brand on his shoulder, yes, he is our horse!
Tacoma has had a lot of work done with him recently and he is such a beautiful boy. It is so sad that his adoptive family walked away from him.

The sun was beginning to set as Tacoma made it back to the shelter.
He posed for some quick pictures. What a gorgeous boy!
Soon he was settled into a waiting pen and munching some good food.

Just a reminder, it is supposed to be raining this Sunday so the shelter will be closed to visitors. Through the winter months the shelter is closed on Sundays, but you are welcome to make an appointment anytime Sunday – Thursday when it’s not raining.
