We have a new video up for you to watch

We have a new video up for you to watch, Tawnee Preisner, our VP, did a report on site of the proposed horse slaughterhouse in Roswell NM.  To watch the video, click here.

The roosters are always ready to help with the chores, or more likely, they are looking for a handout.  They will literally follow you along, waiting to see what will happen next.  They are all sweet roosters, and none of them attack people, they just want you to be the leader of their gang.

Thursday morning a horse was being surrendered for the Last Act of Kindness that was an exceptionally sad situation.  This horse was dearly beloved by its owners, but sadly due to an accidental injury, the horse was kicked by another horse during a drill team maneuver, his hock was badly injured.  His owner spent thousands of dollars trying to make him comfortable, but the pain was too great, and other complications were rising from his injury.  She made the tough decision that it was time to say “Goodbye.”

Meep is recovering nicely from his gelding operation and enjoys being turned out of his stall and into the round pen for exercise during the day.

Cathy, our old secretary who has since founded Trinity Horse Refuge, arrived to pick up the trailer we are transferring to her organization, along with Shadow the mini.  Shadow is going to be buddies with the lonely mini at the refuge.

We wanted to give them some winter blankets as we have an abundance and they needed some.  We had an excess of blankets and are happy we could share with them.

They fell in love with Traveler, and really wanted to bring him to the refuge too.

Traveler had been buddies with Shadow over the fence, and it was nice they could stay together.

After everyone was loaded up they headed off to their refuge.

In no time at all Shadow was introduced to Pancho, who hadn’t seen another little horse his size in 3 years.  They were delighted with each other and began frolicking around their pen.  We are so happy that Shadow and Pancho can be lifetime buddies.

Thank you all so much for your support, we really appreciate it!
