We would like to Thank Saving Baby Equine Charity for their wonderful donation! The majority of the funding come from the sale of their book “Saving Baby – How One Woman’s Love for a Racehorse Led to Her Redemption.” If you would like to purchase a book, click here. Their mission is to raise funds to help rescues, just like us.
Tuesday morning Kirsty was busy evaluating Jesse, our 23 year old American Show Horse.
He is nicely trained to ride in an arena setting and is in great health. If you are interested in adopting him, please contact us.
Faith continues to clean all of our stalls, we really appreciate her hard work.
Our vet came out to geld some of our young boys, but before he got busy on the brain surgeries, Barbra needed her coggins and health certificate done so she could be ready to head to her new home.
Meanwhile, Don was getting some good scratching from Janice.
Don was first to be castrated, we are happy for this very friendly goat as he has a home lined up already.
The other young boys were waiting for their turn.
Nibbles slowly and quietly went to sleep as Kirsty comforted him.
One by one they were gelded, they all did very good.
Janice, one of our volunteers, wants to go to vet school, so Kirsty taught her how to give the boys their vaccines while they were quietly asleep. Janice did a great job.
Wednesday we had this old mare surrendered to our Last Act of Kindness program, her name is Mariah. She has a really bad case of cushings and her owners knew it was time to say “Goodbye” to their sweet old girl.
We would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter, just a reminder the shelter will be closed this Sunday.
Thank you all for your support, both financial and emotional! We really appreciate it.
