The next auction we are going to rescue horses from is coming right up and we need your help! Please help us pull horses out of the slaughter pipeline. Auction yards are public sales where anyone who bids can buy a horse. Kill Buyers attend every auction to purchase horses that they ship directly to slaughter. For most horses who are slaughtered, auctions are the beginning of the slaughter pipeline.
All that Kill Buyers see at auctions are dollars on hooves. They purchase the horses simply for their meat, regardless of training level, health, or service they have done for their old owners. Owners of horses who do not truly care about their horses future, or have no other option, take their horses to auctions, hoping and telling themselves that some nice person will buy them. This is often not the case.
