Attention: The auction is in a few days and we need your help. With Thanksgiving coming up in 2 weeks, the auction rescue is a week earlier than normal, and we really need your support! We are hoping to rescue at least 15 horses this month, 15 precious lives that could have been sent to slaughter. The horses at the auction that are sold in slaughter price range really have two options: rescue or be shipped. We can give the ultimate Thanksgiving gift to horses in need – rescue. No horse deserves to spend Thanksgiving on the road to Mexico or in a holding pen across the border waiting to be butchered. Kill Buyers purchase every horse they can without regard to their age, temperament, training, or whether they were a family’s special companion. All they see are dollars on hooves, and the kill buyers would very thankful to load up their big trucks with horses and make money off of their deaths, but we can change that! With your support, we can rescue and care for 15+ horses out of the slaughter pipeline. We are going to an auction where horses are sold for slaughter on November 17th. Our goal is to rescue 15 horses, or hopefully more!

We rescue horses regardless of their condition, even if they need the Last Act of Kindness. After they are rescued out of the slaughter pipeline they are individually evaluated by our veterinarian and intake team to determine what is the best plan for each horse: adoption, rehab, training, or the Last Act of Kindness. Please be a horse’s hero and support our mission of saving horses by making a donation. Please make a donation right now, your donation could be the difference between finding safety at our shelter or staying in the slaughter pipeline.
In this episode – Some of the Horse Shelter Heroes headed off to Wisconsin to meet with Pony Tales to see how they are doing 1 year after the Full Circle of Life grant, and finish filming the reality TV show Horse Rescue Heroes. Two horses were transferred to one of our adoption partners and will find forever loving homes soon. The weekly vet visits are always enjoyed by our staff due to Doc’s hilarious antics, and this visit was no exception. Then a pour-in pad was made special by our farrier for Storm, who has very tender feet. She is adjusting to them very well.
