HPHS Mission-
Horse Plus Humane Society rescues, shelters, and protects horses across the United States from slaughter, abuse, neglect, or worse. Horse Plus Humane Society has rescued over 6,500 horses since 2003 and is the world’s largest animal welfare organization for horses.
HPHS Improves the Lives of Horses-
1: Horse Plus Humane Society rescues horses directly out of the slaughter pipeline before they end up with kill buyers at their feedlots with inflated prices.
2: HPHS accepts owner surrenders regardless of the horse’s condition, temperament or medical issues.
3: HPHS has a goal of adoption or adoption placement for every horse that comes into the organization. Finding the right home for each horse or providing grant assistance to other adoption agencies to help horses find homes in different regions.
HPHS has Compassion for All Horses-
While some organizations focus on only taking in the most adoptable horses they can find, HPHS will rescue horses even if they need the Last Act of Kindness because every horse deserves love and kindness until the end.
HPHS Helps Horses Across the United States-
HPHS provides grants and financial assistance to private horse owners and nonprofit horse welfare organizations as a safety net to protect horses. These grant programs include; Auction Rescue, Mentoring, Last Act of Kindness, and Castration grants.
