A Seeing-Eye Mini with a Big Heart
This week at the shelter starts off with pure sweetness, a blind Belgian draft horse and her devoted seeing-eye pony! The tiny mini has taken on the role of her guide, following her everywhere and keeping her company. The pair look nearly identical, making them an absolutely adorable duo. Their gentle friendship is a beautiful reminder of how animals care for each other in the most unexpected ways.
Fundraising with Heart
The team is ramping up their fundraising efforts with another t-shirt fundraiser! After last month’s success, new designs have been added, including both men’s and women’s styles, so everyone can show their support in comfort and style. The goal? To rescue 20 horses in need. So far, the community has raised enough to save one life, and every shirt sold brings them closer to helping 19 more.
From Feed Room to Bunkhouse
There’s always something new happening at the shelter! What was once the tack and feed room, then later the office, is getting a new purpose—it’s being transformed into a bunkhouse. This cozy space will give visiting trainers, volunteers, and rescuers a comfortable place to stay overnight when they come to lend a hand. With plans for bunk beds, fresh paint, and plenty of heart, this makeover is just another way Horse Plus Humane Society is building a stronger community for the animals.
Supplies, Smiles, and Shelter Progress
New mattresses have arrived, along with tiles for the feeding stalls and pens. Every upgrade helps the team care for the horses more efficiently and safely. Even with the hard work and endless tasks, there’s always laughter, teamwork, and the unwavering drive to give every horse the love and care they deserve.
