This week at Horse Plus Humane Society, our hearts are full of excitement, hope, and a little bit of hay dust as we celebrated some incredible adoptions and ongoing care for our equine friends!

Adoptions Galore!
Our two-year-old Neptune and four-year-old Buddy both found loving forever homes! Families who’ve adopted from us before welcomed them with open arms, and we’re thrilled to watch these young horses start their next chapters.
So far, five horses including Tribbles and Comment have been adopted this month, and we couldn’t be more excited for their new adventures.
Caring, Healing, and New Beginnings
Daily life at the shelter is bustling with care. Our team keeps hooves healthy and happy, trimming and shoeing horses like Jupiter, Belle, Toffee, and Nabin. We also celebrated Toffee’s 25th birthday with a full evaluation and extra love, reminding us how special every horse in our care is.
Veterinary care remains a top priority. This week included x-rays, wellness checks, and treatments for abscesses, inflammation, and minor injuries. Innovative therapies, such as clay wound care, are helping our horses heal faster and stay comfortable, ensuring they remain happy and healthy as they await or settle into their forever homes.
Every adoption, rescue, and treatment is made possible by our incredible supporters, volunteers and adopters! Your care and generosity allow these horses to heal, thrive, and find the loving homes they deserve.
Rescue Updates
Our rescue efforts are moving forward as well. Four mini horses rescued from a recent auction were safely relocated to another organization to finish quarantine and rehabilitation. With their new space, we’re ready to rescue more horses in need, continuing our mission of giving every horse a second chance.
Raising Awareness
We also want to raise awareness about a serious issue, hundreds of horses are exported to Mexico for slaughter each month. By sharing these stories, we hope to encourage responsible horse ownership and thoughtful decisions when it comes to rehoming horses.
Every adoption, treatment and rescue reminds us why we do what we do. From the tiniest minis to the youngest jumpers, our horses inspire us daily with their resilience, spirit and capacity to love.
