Welcome Levi: A Gentle Giant Arrives
We kicked things off with the surrender of Levi, a massive 17 hand Belgian draft horse. This gentle giant made quite the entrance, and our team wasted no time scheduling a full veterinary evaluation. With the vet and trainer ready to assess his health, age, and training, Levi is officially on his journey toward healing and a brighter future.
Celebrating Our Team: Employee of the Quarter
Rescue work takes heart, dedication and teamwork, and this week we proudly launched our first Employee of the Quarter program. Angela was honored for going above and beyond in her role, and the celebration included applause, sweet treats and lots of gratitude. We could not do this work without our incredible staff!
Support That Makes a Difference
We are grateful for a new partnership with the makers of SinChill and GastroMend. These products help stressed and ulcer prone horses feel better after everything they have endured. Thanks to our supporters and followers, these donations will directly improve comfort and recovery for horses rescued from auctions and neglect.
An After Hours Donkey Rescue
Just when the day seemed done, an unexpected rescue arrived. A feral donkey who had been running loose in town for nearly ten years was safely brought to the shelter. Though frightened and unhandled, he is now safe, off the streets, and finally getting the care he needs, including much needed hoof care.
Preparing the Shelter for Spring
With warmer months ahead, the shelter received a deep clean thanks to heavy equipment and hardworking crews. New panels were also delivered to prepare for future intakes, ensuring our facility stays safe, functional, and ready to help more horses in need.
Adoptions That Make It All Worth It
This episode was overflowing with happy endings.
Casper the mini horse found his forever home.
Dancer was adopted by a family who discovered Horse Plus through the show itself.
Kona found his match.
Mini donkeys Olive and Jelly Bean were adopted together and are heading home as a bonded pair.
Each adoption represents careful application review, thoughtful matching, and the start of a new chapter for both the animals and their families.

From medical care to messy barns to joyful goodbyes, this episode captures the heart of rescue life. It is unpredictable, exhausting and deeply rewarding. Seeing horses and donkeys leave for loving homes makes every long day worth it.
