One mare begins showing classic signs of strangles, a highly contagious bacterial infection. The team immediately shifts into strict quarantine protocol, carefully preventing cross contamination and sending out testing.
Later, results confirm it is strangles. Thanks to strong biosecurity systems already in place, exposed horses are monitored, vaccinated and isolated. Everyone is recovering well.
It is a reminder that rescue is not just compassion. It is vigilance.
Advanced Veterinary Care
Dentals reveal painful ulcers hidden deep inside a mare’s mouth. Sedation and careful floating bring relief she likely needed for a long time. X -rays uncover a fracture in another horse. Every case is handled thoroughly, with diagnostics guiding each decision.
Some stories are harder. Two horses, Spice and Cardimon, are given the last act of kindness after severe internal disease and suspected cancer. Necropsy findings confirm the compassionate choice.
Even in loss, the team ensures dignity and answers.
Adoptions & Second Chances
There is good news too. A returning adopter selects Joey, an unstarted Tennessee Walker Saddlebred mix, for training and a fresh start. Watching trusted adopters come back speaks volumes about the level of care each horse receives.
