13 Horses Step Into a New Chapter

It was a big milestone as a large group of horses officially graduated from quarantine and moved into their designated pastures. Each one is carefully sorted based on their needs, from diet to continued care.
After everything they have been through, this step marks a fresh start and a real chance at a better life!
Fighting for Justice Behind the Scenes

Justice is in motion! We attended the preliminary hearing for the 34 animals seized in Hickman County. The case is moving forward to the grand jury. We’re fine-tuning our extensive reports to ensure these animals get the legal protection they need. Every detail counts when we’re standing up for the voiceless.
It is a reminder that rescue is not just hands-on care, it is also advocacy and accountability!
Medical Mysteries & Everyday Care

The episode brought its share of surprises! We had a bit of a surprise with Tux, a long-term resident cat we thought was a “he.” Turns out, Tux is a “she”! After a quick exam and confirming she was already spayed, we treated her for a pesky UTI.

Over in the barn, Jolene gave us a scare with an enlarged abdomen. While her symptoms screamed “pregnancy,” the ultrasound says otherwise. We’re awaiting blood results to be 100% sure, but for now, she’s healthy and happy. Meanwhile, Coco the mini-horse had a liver check-up to ensure he’s strong enough for an upcoming eye procedure.
The Moments That Make It All Worth It

There wasn’t a dry eye in the barn when the adoption bell rang! Drifter and Littlefoot found their forever humans. Their new family plans to take them on countless trail-riding adventures.
Seeing these resilient souls load onto a trailer headed for a life of love is why we do what we do.

Ready to join the mission? There are so many ways to get involved and make a difference! You can start by heading over to our Adoptions Tab to meet the horses, dogs and cats currently searching for their forever families.
If you’d rather get some dirt under your fingernails, join us for our Volunteer Day on the first Wednesday of every month from 9:00 AM to noon. It’s the perfect chance to help out around the shelter and sneak in some quality time with our mascots, Dino and Cowboy.
Why This Work Matters

Every horse moved, every diagnosis made, every space improved and every adoption completed is part of something bigger. It is about giving animals a second chance and making sure they never have to face hardship alone again.
