To protect means to provide safety from dangers, both physical and emotional. Protecting animals is trifecta of physical action, educational action, and political action, along with other means of protecting animals in need. Physical protection involves providing the care and support that animal owners people need, and if neccesary involving law enforcement to remove animals from dangerous situations. Educational action is educating people on responsbile animal ownership and care, while political action involves lobbying at a local, state and federal level.

Our financial aid stretches far and wide, making a positive impact on equine lives across the globe. From supporting nonprofits in the United States to rescue more horses from slaughter auctions, to funding vital programs in areas where veterinary care is scarce, our reach is far-reaching. We even extend our helping hand to Indonesia, assisting in the rescue of hardworking horses once their cart-pulling days are over. You'll find us in Costa Rica too, where dedicated horse owners walk for hours to access a welfare clinic that we helped support. Our global hoofprint is a testament to our dedication and commitment, and none of it would be possible without the generous support of our incredible community.
Lobbying for the safeguarding of horses is an essential endeavor. Our founders, with decades of experience in horse rescue and care, identify needed legislation at both state and federal levels to effect substantial change. Most policymakers are uninformed about the severe challenges horses encounter. During their advocacy visits to Washington DC, Jason and Tawnee share their personal encounters with the plight of horses lacking adequate protection. Their presentations vividly depict the harsh truth of horses in the slaughter pipeline, illuminating the bleak reality. Their efforts are validated when policymakers gain a fresh understanding of the significance of horse welfare issues. Without legal protection, horse maltreatment, neglect, and slaughter exports risk persisting unchecked. Thus, advocacy for horse protection legislation is not merely important, but indispensable.
Our goal is to strengthen horse welfare organizations and boost their impact. We believe in the power of mentoring, which is why we offer organizations the chance to join the Full Circle of Life Horse Shelter Network. Through this network, we share knowledge and expertise, creating a robust mentoring experience. More established organizations guide the newer ones, sharing their wealth of animal welfare experience. Our mentorship program addresses a wide range of topics, from successful non-profit operation to conducting rescue missions, all aimed at supporting horses in meaningful ways. We also welcome other experts like veterinarians and equine nutritionists to impart knowledge, ensuring that horse welfare organizations are well-equipped to be a lasting resource for horses in need.
Finding the perfect home for our rescued horses is a delightful task, and brings such joy to our staff. Our adoption process is designed to be friendly, yet thorough, ensuring each horse finds a loving and suitable home. Potential adopters participate in a two-step approval process after filling out an adoption application. We review references, submitted material, and ensure that the potential adopter can provide a loving home. Once all checks out, the adopter is approved for adoption appointment to meet our horses awaiting homes. The final stage consists of observing how the potential adopter interacts with the horse they wish to provide a home for. If our adoption team believes it's the right match, the adopter will receive final approval that they can adopt a horse. Adoption paperwork is then filled out and the adopter gets to ring our adoption bell. This bell ringing signals to all that another horse has found its forever home.
We're passionate about helping horse owners! We're here to lend a hand, providing financial aid for essential services such as gelding operations and the Last Act of Kindness (humane euthanasia). Our gelding assistance program is a fantastic initiative to prevent the birth of unwanted horses, making a big difference in the equine community. We understand that choosing the Last Act of Kindness for a suffering horse is an incredibly tough decision, but we're here to help, stressing the importance of following your vet's advice to ensure the best quality of life for your horse. By offering euthanasia assistance, we can prevent horses from entering the slaughter pipeline due to financial constraints. When natural disasters strike, we're also on hand, offering support for emergency vet care and horse feed. We provide assistance directly to a veterinarian or feed store, ensuring all funds go exactly where they're needed.
