Our goal is to help rescue horses out of the slaughter pipeline before the kill buyers get them. It costs our organization about $1,000 to rescue a horse out of the slaughter pipeline, give it veterinarian care, quarantine, training, and sheltering until it is adopted. We feel strongly that every horse deserves a chance and we rescue as many horses as we can in the slaughter price range, up to $0.65 a pound. We rescue horses regardless of their condition, even if they need the Last Act of Kindness.
