What an amazing night of rescue! Our team was able to rescue an incredible 33 precious lives from the horrors of the slaughter pipeline thanks to donations from people just like you, and hopefully you. We got horses, mules, miniature mules, donkeys, miniature donkeys, old horses, young horses, the list goes on and on. We could not have done this without your support!
Tonight there were a lot of horses in really rough condition. We saved every single horse we possibly could until our rescue fund was exhausted, and then we stepped out in faith and saved more. A lot of horses at the auction were thin, coming out of winter. It helps their rescue purchase price as kill buyers pay based on how much each horse weighs. First thing tomorrow morning we will start their intake process, they will be transported to our shelter, be examined by our veterinarian team, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, the list goes on.
