Amazing Adoption Day!
Sunday June 30, the last day of the ASPCA Help a Horse Home competition, was our adoption day. It was absolutely amazing! At this event 21 horses were adopted to approved homes and 10 others in the days prior to the adoption day. We had a great turn out with over 100 people coming to our shelter. Horse Rescue Heroes Official Trailer
We are very excited about our new reality TV show, “Horse Rescue Heroes,” which will be airing on the EQUUS Film Festival On-Demand platform in 2020! It may be on a nationwide TV station, we are still researching that and will let you know closer to the release date. We have a very busy schedule in August with the filming, and we are excited. Soon you’ll have a new glimpse in the lives of our founders, our team, and all the amazing people at Horse Plus and Ponytales. Horse Rescue Heroes tells the story of the heroes who rescue horses and find loving homes for them despite the overwhelming and insurmountable challenges that are ever present. You will not want to miss this exciting TV show as our team from Horse Plus Humane Society helps a small horse rescue that is struggling to make ends meet. Update on the Horses Rescued at Auction
The horses rescued from the last auction rescue mission are doing very well. They have gone through the first part of quarantine. Now they have been moved to a quarantine pasture and are enjoying roaming around the beautiful 18 acres just enjoying being horses. Horses rescued from auction are typically traumatized and its good to let them have some time just being horses. They will be coming back to our shelter soon for their training evaluation and will be available for adoption soon. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on them!
Construction Update
This year our shelter has seen a lot of permanent improvements, including a 10 stall intake barn, a new office that will have a veterinarian station as well as a small dog and cat holding area. We are very excited to have this under construction! Jason and Tawnee have been working a lot on it and the interior is coming right along.
We would like to thank Summertown Metals for their donation that made our indoor riding arena possible. It is now up and we are working on footing. This arena will make working with horses and showing horses to potential adopters easier in inclement weather.
Our next auction rescue is scheduled for July 16. We cannot thank you enough for your support of our rescue and sheltering efforts!
