Our rescue team is going to the auction on Tuesday, February 23rd, and we need your help! This month we had a $10,000 matching donation, every donation was matched dollar for dollar. $1 donated towards our Rescue Fund and a $1 matching donation went to our National Equine Safety-Net Fund. That means that this month our Rescue Fund already has $10,000! It costs approximately $1,000 to rescue a horse out of the slaughter pipeline, give the horse veterinarian care, quarantine, training, and sheltering. Every month we attend auctions to save as many horses as we can from continuing down the slaughter pipeline. We don’t know how many horses will be at the auction this month, usually, there are 75 – 100 that are sold to the highest bidder, no matter who they are.
We are going to save as many of those horses as we can. No horse deserves to be dumped at an auction with no concern for its future, no horse deserves to be shipped out of the country for slaughter. We can change the lives of horses, but only with your help. Your donation will be used to rescue, shelter, and protect horses.
