Breakfast & Barn Upgrades

The day kicks off early with the “Breakfast Club.” Our Arabians enjoyed their senior active mix with a side of apple nuggets, while Glimmer and Harvest got their specialized mash to keep them “fat and sassy.”

Maintenance never stops! We’ve been busy replacing rotted lumber in the stalls and upgrading our workspace. We traded muddy pallets for solid dirt and mats to keep both our humans and horses safe from trips and slips.
Volunteer Vibes & Farrier Files

Our amazing volunteers spent their “Pony Time” grooming Cowboy and leading him through the obstacle course. He’s a pro, though he did celebrate his clean coat by immediately rolling in the mud afterward!

We also hosted the farrier for a marathon session. Jazz and Amelia (who came to us unhandled from Colorado) were total superstars for their trims. It’s all about building that trust, one hoof at least!
Happy Trails & A New Tradition

The absolute heart of our mission is watching these resilient horses finally find “their” people, and this week provided plenty of reasons to cheer. Our very own team member, Troy, officially made it official with Blossom!
They’ve had a special connection since her first day at the shelter and seeing her head home to join his family was a moment we won’t soon forget.

The celebrations continued as Vance met his forever family, and we got the immense joy of watching his new owner move his photo over to our “Found Love” board.

In a bittersweet but beautiful twist, our incredible Dr. Nancy is also starting a new chapter. While we’re sad to say goodbye to such a talented vet, our hearts are full knowing she is adopting Benjamin and Chatty.
Especially given Benjamin’s complex medical history, we couldn’t dream of a more perfect, expert home for him to thrive in.
We are endlessly grateful for the way Dr Nancy poured her heart and soul into every animal under her care, teaching us all so much about equine medicine along the way.

To honor these new beginnings, we’ve added a brand-new tradition to the barn: the Victory Bell!
We’ve mounted a beautiful bell on a fresh post so that every time a horse, dog, or cat finds their forever home, our adopters can ring it loud and proud, letting the whole shelter know that another life has been changed forever.
Why Rescue Matters

This episode is a powerful glimpse into the reality of rescue work… the early mornings, the tough calls, the small victories, and the life-changing moments. It’s not just about saving horses; it’s about giving them dignity, care, and a chance at a better life.
And sometimes, it’s about ringing a bell to celebrate just that.
