The hurt and fear in their eyes is so hard to see. They are all crammed into a pen together or a tiny pen alone with no way to move, no food, and sometimes no water. They keep calling for their friends but they can’t hear over all of the noise. People are going here and there. Some are talking about numbers while others about how skinny this one is and how great that one looks. The kill buyers are only thinking about how much money they can make on the fatter ones.

Oh, how bad these horses look. So skinny with no life left in their eyes. Some haven’t had enough food in weeks, maybe even months. We have a sick feeling in our stomachs while our hearts are breaking for them. To see many of them hurt, while others lay down for the first time in a while. They have no energy left to go on.

This is when our team steps in. We know that we can help these horses, all thanks to you and your support. We have seen time and time again how just a little love and food will make a whole new horse. We don’t know the exact stories of these horses, but we do know what their future is.

Yes, we do have some that come that we have to say goodbye to. No, it’s never easy and it never will be. They have become a part of who we are, even if it’s just for a short time. Many tears are shed that day but it’s also a happy feeling knowing that they will never have to suffer again.

Thank you so much for making a big difference in these horses lives. Below are a few photos of horses we rescued at an auction and what they look like now. It’s crazy that just over 40 days later they look like this. It goes to show that a lot of love and food can go a long way.

There are so many horses just like those above that need our help. Tuesday night we will be attending the auction. Will you help us save them? Please make a donation now.
