Faster Protection for Shelter Cats
The clinic kicks off with feline intakes and vaccinations. Thanks to a newer hybrid core vaccine with quicker onset of immunity, kittens are protected faster against respiratory disease and panleukopenia which is critical in a shelter setting. There are a few dramatic reactions, a little foaming over bitter meds, and plenty of tiny opinions voiced along the way.
Each cat is prepped carefully for adoption, moving one step closer to a safe and loving home.
Brave Horses Learning to Trust
In the arena, Nemo, a completely blind three year old horse, quietly amazes everyone. Despite his vision loss, he accepts a rider for the first time at the shelter and handles it with calm confidence. It is a powerful reminder that limitations do not define potential.
Poppy’s journey is quieter but just as meaningful. After past trauma left her wary of human touch, training focuses on baby steps. A halter placed gently. A hand resting softly. Pressure released at the right moment. Trust is built inch by inch.
Healing in Quarantine
Up in quarantine, the team monitors strangles recoveries and checks on weight gain progress. Kissme celebrates a milestone with a 100 pound gain since intake.
Austin’s ruptured abscess is flushed, packed with antibiotic cream, and treated thoroughly. It is messy work, but it is healing work. Careful follow up ensures infections are controlled and comfort restored.
Tulsa, a pregnant mare, is scheduled for further veterinary evaluation after new concerns arise. No detail is overlooked.
A Little Holiday Humor
Even in the middle of medical rounds and treatments, the team finds time to laugh. A lighthearted computer prank on the video editor brings some much needed comic relief during a packed week of responsibility.
Because in rescue, balance matters too.
Grateful Hearts
With many staff members taking a short Thanksgiving break, the episode is a little shorter than usual. But the mission remains full speed ahead.
