The auction rescue is in a few days, this Tuesday! Will you help?
We will be going to the auction this Tuesday to rescue as many horses as we can, we don’t know for sure yet how many horses we will be able to save but our goal is 15! We can only rescue horses with your support. Just yesterday the USDA reported that 144 horses were exported out of Texas into Mexico, their only purpose slaughter.
We know that there will be multiple kill buyers at the auction on Tuesday, with large budgets to buy as many horses as possible. There is always a huge semi slaughter truck there, and multiple large trailers owned by kill buyers. It breaks our heart every month when we see so many horses being purchased by the kill buyers. We wish we could save them all, but we know for the ones we do save that changes the world for them. Please make a donation, even five dollars can make a difference. If everyone pitches in we can save a lot of horses from ending up as just a number on the USDA’s export report.

HAPPY 41ST BIRTHDAY JASON!
It has been said behind every man is a strong woman. We all know our president Tawnee, but behind Tawnee is an amazing man. When Horse Plus Humane Society was founded, Jason solely funded all the rescuing costs, feed, veterinarian expenses, and all costs involved for years. Tawnee has a reading disability which makes it extremely hard for her to read or type out all the information in blogs and on our website that you have seen over the years. Our president Tawnee definitely is the driving force in this organization and has a passion for horses that is running strong in her heart, but none of this could have been possible if it wasn’t for Jason standing behind her and beside her, helping her every step of the way, from funding the rescue, to writing out blogs as she dictates, moving hay, building fences, plumbing, and all the heavy work. Today is Jason’s birthday and he is 41 years old! It was 17 years ago this month that Tawnee went to the auction and rescued her first horse and the organization was born. Jason’s birthday wish is that $4,100 will be raised to help rescue horses from this upcoming auction rescue we will be doing next Tuesday.
Jason is an amazing person and if it was not for him standing behind Tawnee encouraging her along the way and financially making this organization possible in the early days, Horse Plus would not be what it is today. Thank you Jason so much for all your hard work over the years! We hope you have a wonderful birthday and that all your dreams and wishes come true!
