Martha came to us back in July of this year. We saved her at the auction where she would have most likely have been sold to a kill buyer and sent to the slaughterhouse. When Martha came to us she was very scared and not halter broke. She was just a bag of bones and needed someone to love her.
After quarantine Martha started the journey to start trusting people. The trainer took it slow with her and did it on Martha’s time. It wasn’t long before Martha would come to her in the pasture. They started to grow closer together and it wasn’t long before she started to gain weight and look just stunning!
Martha was adopted out after just 88 days of being here at Horse Plus. She is now a halter-trained calm sweet girl! No more fear, no more running because she didn’t know what someone was going to do to her. She was saved because of people like you! People that believe in saving horses from going to slaughter.
