Quarantine Care & Cozy Blankets

Fresh baths, full hay nets, and fall fluff! The team checks swelling, brushes mud, and bundles Braveheart in his super-warm “heater” blanket. The horses are settling into quarantine and healing beautifully.
A Concrete Improvement (Literally!)

Mud and moisture in Tennessee wreak havoc on hooves. The new concrete flooring with deep bedding keeps horses dry, prevents disease spread, and allows true deep cleaning during their short quarantine stay.
Cleaner, safer, and healthier, exactly what these rescued horses deserve.
Adoption Joy: 15 Horses Found Homes

Fifteen horses found homes in September! Orion is the first to be adopted in October, and the team proudly updates the adoption board, celebrating every life changed.
Surprise! Emergency Kittens Arrive
Not just horses need heroes! This week, several fragile, orphaned kittens were brought in after being found in terrible shape.

One was too sick to survive, but the remaining babies are receiving baths, warmth, and around-the-clock care. With nowhere else in the county able to take them, these tiny lives now have a safe place to heal.
Caring Hands and Generous Hearts
This week at Horse Plus Humane Society, our team celebrated incredible support from donors and kept the horses healthy and happy. Thanks to your generosity, we unboxed stall feeders, training barrels, medical supplies, and more. One winter wish remains, hand warmers for chilly rescue days!

Meanwhile, the farrier and vet team worked hard on hoof trims, dentals, and checkups. Even after Shelby’s toe got stepped on, she insisted she was fine, showing the toughness and dedication that make our shelter truly special.

Real Talk About Rescue
One of the most emotional moments in the episode is a difficult phone call from a frustrated caller who wants the team to drive to another state to save kill-pen horses.
The frustration is understandable, but the real enemy is the slaughter pipeline itself, not the rescuers fighting tirelessly to save every life they can.

With 100 calls coming in daily, the team does their best, while admitting more funding could help add staff dedicated to phones, emails, and social messages.
Off to New Adventures
Tribble and Cosmos leave for their new home… together! The team beams as they load up, knowing these two are heading toward brighter futures.
