Thank you to each person who donated on Giving Tuesday! Your outpouring of support is so appreciated and will greatly help our work of rescuing and sheltering horses. We did not reach our goal of $50,000 but came very close. Every day nearly 200 horses are exported out of the United States and slaughtered for human consumption. Horse slaughter is cruel and barbaric, we would not slaughter a dog or cat, yet our American horses are being exported daily for slaughter. With your continued support we will strive to save every horse we can from that horrible fate.
Jason and Tawnee (our founders) are headed to Kentucky for the Equus Film Festival at the Kentucky Horse Park. You can come and meet Jason and Tawnee at the Equus Film Festival on Friday or Sunday. On Sunday, December 8th, at 12:00 pm they both are on The Horse Rescuers Panel with Host Candace Wade and rescuers Jan Nierzwick – Horses Without Humans, and Linda Brown Sheehan – Becky’s Hope Horse Rescue. Friday at 11:00 am December 6th we will be premiering an entire episode of the new reality TV show Horse Rescue Heroes. Episode 5 of Horse Rescue Heroes is an episode following Tawnee and Jason Preisner at a Livestock Auction where their team rescues over 50 horses from the slaughter pipeline.
