Some days at Horse Plus start busy and then quickly turn into something much bigger.
From loose animals after a storm to a surprise rooster surrender, the day was already full of unexpected moments. In between it all, there were quiet wins too… like Fiesta’s healing journey showing just how powerful consistent care can be!

Small Wins That Matter
Fiesta, once injured from a fence accident, is now nearly healed and getting ready to return outside. It is a reminder that recovery takes time but every step forward matters.
At the same time, more animals found safety. A gentle mare named Lady arrived as an owner surrender, a long-waiting barn cat, Gabriel, finally found a home and even a protective rooster named Elvis got his second chance.
When Rescue Gets Real
While the team handled daily chores like feeding, repairs and farrier visits, a serious call came in about starving dogs.
What started as concern quickly turned into a critical situation involving multiple agencies and a dangerous environment. The team prepared, knowing this would be a difficult rescue.
Stepping Into the Hard Moments
With a warrant secured, the team arrived alongside law enforcement.
Inside, the reality was heartbreaking. Malnourished adult dogs, fragile puppies and unsafe conditions made it clear how urgent the situation was. Despite the risks, the focus stayed the same, getting every animal to safety.
One by one, the dogs were rescued. The adult dogs showed clear signs of neglect, while the puppies held on thanks to mothers who gave everything they had.
Why Rescue Matters
This is what rescue looks like.
It is unpredictable, emotional and sometimes dangerous. But it is always worth it.
Because in the middle of chaos, lives are still being saved and for these animals, that changes everything!
