Healing, Hope & a Whole Lot of Heart
This week at Horse Plus Humane Society, the team focused on our most vulnerable residents. Liberty received extra TLC and sunscreen for her sensitive nose, while Buddy enjoyed leg soaks, wraps, and medications to help him heal. Every small improvement is a victory worth celebrating.
We also welcomed a newly surrendered donkey after his owner’s mother passed away. Though his arrival was bittersweet, he is now safe, loved, and on the path to a brighter future.
Rescue is a team effort. Christian Farms Rescue & Rehab stepped in to continue the rehabilitation and rehoming of horses from our quarantine program. Partnerships like this create space to save even more horses from the slaughter pipeline, showing that collaboration truly saves lives.
Adoptions & Celebrations
One of the biggest celebrations of the week? Adding four new names—Lorado, Queen of the Night, Rocky, and Ember to the Adopted & Transferred Wall.
That brings the month’s total to 13 horses adopted, and it’s only September 17th!
Introducing… BIG RED!
The new rescue truck, Big Red, is here! Equipped with tools, hay spears, and space for the team, it’s a game-changer for saving and transporting horses.
Big Red represents more than a vehicle, it’s a lifeline made possible by dedicated supporters who believe in the mission. This truck will carry rescued horses, haul hay, and help save countless lives for years to come.
