The auction is coming up in just a few days and we really need your help. So far we have only raised enough funds to rescue and shelter 2 horses from the auction. We are really worried because our goal is to save at least 20 horses, and we are a long ways from that goal. We cannot imagine how devastating it would be to have to say “No” to horses at the auction because we didn’t have funds to save and shelter them. Every horse we rescue is a special horse, every donkey we rescue has its own special story, every mini touches our hearts in a unique way. We don’t know what kinds of horses we will rescue, we don’t know if we will rescue any donkeys or minis. But we do know that thanks to your generous support, every animal we rescue has a complete change of destiny. Their future is very bleak at the auction without us. At best they are purchased by a horse trader and sold from home to home, but only the fanciest, best trained horses are purchased by traders. At worst, their destiny is determined by one of two destinations: slaughter in Canada or Mexico. We change that destiny! When we save their life, they come to our shelter where they are given immediate veterinarian evaluation, deworming, vaccinations, hoof care, whatever they need, they get. They then settle in for a full month of quarantine and just being a horse, destressing from the auction and learning to love once again.
