The True Cost of a Second Chance
Rescuing at scale is about much more than just providing a soft place to land. It is a massive logistical undertaking that requires a constant flow of supplies. This week, Sarah and I sat down to tackle a mountain of essentials needed for our auction intakes. From electrolytes and probiotics to Ivermectin, five-way vaccines and microchips, the bill quickly climbed to over $5,000.

It is a sobering reminder that our life-saving work relies 100% on the generosity of people like you. Every donation goes directly toward these crucial supplies that give neglected horses a fresh start.
A Fresh Look Built by You

We have some exciting news regarding our facility! Thanks to every single person who watches our videos, the resulting ad revenue has allowed us to build a brand-new filming studio.
The best part is that this project was funded entirely by video views, meaning not a single penny of donor money was diverted from the horses!

Our friend Kimberly stepped in as the “decorator hero,” helping us turn a plain room into a warm, professional space.
This studio will be vital as we continue to film educational content and mentor other rescue organizations from around the country.
Happy Trails & New Beginnings

Nothing beats the feeling of watching a trailer pull out of the driveway with a horse headed to a forever home. We had some wonderful success stories this week, including Dublin and Joey, who found a perfect match with a family looking for a new riding partner and a companion.

We also said goodbye to Smoky, who has come such a long way with his halter training. Finally, a sweet donkey named Popcorn found his place with a wonderful adopter who decided that three donkeys are definitely better than two!

The Hardest Part: Why We Say No

For the first time, we are sharing a side of rescue that usually stays off-camera: the difficult decision to deny an adoption. We recently had to turn away a family interested in our unhandled horses.
While we know it is disappointing for potential adopters, our priority must always be the safety of both the animal and the human. Unhandled horses require a high level of expertise or a committed professional trainer. When we feel a match isn’t safe or if there are red flags regarding the long-term care of the horse, we have to stand our ground.
Putting the Horses First

Our mission is to find the right home, not just the first home. Although the aftermath of these decisions can sometimes result in tough emails or misunderstandings, we remain committed to doing what is best for the horses in our care. Their safety and future well-being are the reasons we do what we do every single day.
