Stocking Up for the Herd

The day kicked off with a big win for the horses. Sixty five round bales of hay were picked up from a generous neighbor who grows their own hay.
Being able to afford and store quality hay is a huge part of keeping the herd healthy and supporter donations make moments like this possible. Every bale truly matters!
Building a Better Shelter

Progress continued inside the shelter with ongoing construction. Windows were trimmed, steel was installed and electricity was added to rooms that are nearly complete.
Each improvement brings Horse Plus one step closer to providing safer, more comfortable spaces for the animals who need them most.
New Faces & Second Chances

The episode also introduced a few new arrivals. Two puppies named Brooks and Dunn were rescued after being found running into traffic, and Tracker, an energetic Australian Shepherd Catahoula mix, showed just how much potential a surrendered dog can have with the right environment.
Fully vetted and ready for adoption, Tracker is proof that sometimes all an animal needs is space to run and someone to believe in them.

A Full House of Medical Care

With the veterinarian on site, the team made the most of every minute. Cats and dogs were vaccinated, microchipped and neutered, and a Coggins test was pulled on a new horse surrender.

At the same time, the farrier worked through a busy lineup of horses while an equine massage therapist provided acupressure therapy to horses struggling with chronic pain and tension.

Watching horses release stress through yawns, chewing and relaxation was a powerful reminder that healing is not just physical, it is emotional too!
Training Takes Patience

Groundwork sessions showed how challenging and important training can be. One mare named Kat continues to struggle with attention and boundaries, showing how dangerous a lack of groundwork can be with large animals.
The team focused on patience, consistency and safety, knowing that progress takes time.
When Love Means Letting Go

One of the hardest moments of the day came with Savannah. Despite months of treatment, radiographs revealed severe coffin bone rotation that caused constant pain and could not be repaired.
After exhausting every option, the team made the compassionate decision to give her the last act of kindness. It was a heartbreaking reminder that rescue is not always about saving, but always about preventing suffering.
Small Moments, Big Wins

Angela, the shelter foreman, shared what drives her dedication. Whether it is pulling horses from auctions or making the hardest call when an animal is suffering, the mission is always the same.
Step in, do the right thing, and change lives, even when that change is a peaceful goodbye!

The episode closed on a beautiful note as two dogs, Isabelle and Rain, went for a walk. Isabelle, once trembling and terrified, began to wag her tail, play and learn how to be a dog.
With a little space, patience and kindness, her world started to change!
Thank You for Being Part of This

This episode is a powerful look at the reality of rescue. None of it would be possible without supporters who believe in the mission and stand behind the work.
Every bale of hay, every trimmed hoof, every gentle touch and every difficult decision is made with one goal in mind. Giving animals the care, dignity and compassion they deserve!
