We are at the auction right now, and we are seeing so many horses who need rescuing. We want to rescue as many horses as we possibly can out of the slaughter pipeline tonight, and with your help we can do just that! There’s a draft horse here with a torn tendon who can’t even hardly stand. It is devastating and heartbreaking.
There’s another horse here that is suffering from an old broken hip leg injury the pain this horse has endured is incomprehensible.
Depending on the size of the horse, it costs around 80 cents a pound which is driving our prices up to around $800 per horse at the auction. However, it costs us between $1,000-$1,500 per horse for the whole process of rescuing, medical care, quarantine, training, adoption into a new loving home, or if necessary, the Last Act of Kindness. We will rescue any horse we can that is within the slaughter price range, regardless of their condition, even if the kindest option for them is the Last Act of Kindness.
