What happens with the horses when they come to our shelter? This is a question that we get a lot. When the horses come to our shelter many of them have been through a lot as many of them come from auctions. No matter if they have come to us from the auction, owner surrender or a seizure case, after our intake process we let them settle in for a few weeks. They love just running around the pastures and enjoying time with their new friends, or just standing under the shelter soaking it all in.

We get a lot of colts and young stallions, and after their gelding operation, they need time to relax and heal from their operation. These three youngsters were recently gelded. They love to hang out together and think that eating out of the same bucket is the best thing ever.

One of our little minis was seen by the vet recently and had one of his eyeballs removed. He is doing great and healing nicely. We have an amazing vet team who is always on call and takes care of all of the horses.

After quarantine our trainer begins working with the rescued horses. We want to make sure we know their training levels to ensure they get the perfect home for them. Each adopter goes through an adoption interview to make sure that the horse and rider are a perfect match. Every horse we adopt out is welcome back at any time.

We will be having a big adoption day this Sunday! To see more information click here. It will tell you what the requirements are for adopting and you will be able to view the horses that are posted. We can’t wait to see the horses getting amazing homes.

In a week we will be going to an auction to rescue more horses. We know after our big adoption day a lot of our pens are going to be empty. There are always a lot of horses at the auction that desperately need rescuing. Thank you so much for your support!
